Creating Conejo

Creating Conejo

A pivotal moment in Swazzle’s bilingual musical puppet show Dream Carver is when the young hero, Mateo, dreams that vibrantly colored magical animals sing to him and encourage him to carve them to life.? Quetzal, a brightly colored South American bird, and Rosa, a pink jaguar with yellow spots, have appeared in this sequence in past incarnations of the show.

In the theatrical presentation of Dream Carver, new comic character Conejo, a turquoise, red, and orange rabbit, joins the cast. Like Quetzal and Rosa, Conjo was based on illustrations by Amy Cordova.
