Puppet Guilds
Sorry it's been ages! I'm having some scanner issues so all my previous posts (still unposted!) are awaiting pics to post with! Whilst I'm waiting, I thought I could plug puppet guilds.
There are a bevy of organizations with a membership that holds an untold wealth of puppet knowledge! Great builders, designers, performers, and enthusiasts who gather together to share their knowledge and talents with each other!
Here are some of my favorites:
UNIMA: An international organization check out their website.
UNIMA-USA: Our 'local' branch of the International organization.
Puppeteers of America (P of A): A National organization. A great resource to find local 'Guilds' in your area.
SFBAPG - My local Guild with meetings and an online newsletter!
I've been a member of one or more of the above organizations for years and I highly recommend it! It's a great way to meet new people that share your interests and, of course, a wonderful tool to further your knowledge of what has come before you.
