AXA Equitable's "800 Pound Gorilla"

I just saw this commercial for Axa Equitable and had to find out about the animatronic gorilla featured as the "800 pound gorilla" in the room. Apparently it's a gorilla from "Instinct" (Touchstone Pictures). See the commercial here. It's a windows mediaplayer (just an FYI).
Enjoy!
Additional: In case you were wondering, the Gorilla used in this commercial--if it was, in fact, from "Instinct", was made by Stan Winston Studios

Hey, thanks for the emails! I love the gorilla posting. I tried to email you back a response about Kevin Clash on Captain Kangaroo...he was a late add on in the 80's.
Ah! Thanks! I knew it was something like that! Glad liked this post. Did you get to see the commercials? They're pretty funny/weird!
The thing that gets me about those ads is that they used the wrong metaphor. It's the "elephant in the room" that no one talks about. The "800 lb. gorilla" is the dominant player in a situation.
While the 800 lb Gorilla commercial for AXA / Equitable is a clever and cute commercial, there seems to be a direct correlation between the gorilla and the extremly heavy load AXA / Equitable put on the shoulders of all their Retirees with huge increases in Medical Premiums for 2008.
Elephant! Elephant! Elephant! Not gorilla. The 800 pound gorilla is the person on a team, group, or in an organization who has a disproportionate amount of sway because of his/her strength of will, character, etc, and not necessarily credentials.
No matter weather it's the 800 lb. Gorilla or Elephant in the room it's selling the product and that's what counts. Maybe had Equitable advertised this well the company name today would not be AXA Equitable.
