Swazzle is raising money to help puppeteer and puppet instructor Michael Earl fight colon cancer.
Michael Earl is a 30-year veteran of film and television. His puppeteering credits include Sesame Street, The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan and Team America World Police. He has trained many of today’s working television puppeteers, including Swazzle co-founders Sean and Patrick Johnson. Michael recently founded Puppet School, where he is training the next generation of puppeteers and puppet builders.
Michael doesn’t have health insurance and all proceeds of the sale will go to him to help with medical and living expenses.
The event will be on Saturday, October 20th, from 8am to 4pm at Swazzle:
4525 San Fernando Rd. Unit F, Glendale CA, 90035
There is free street parking
We will be selling puppet building materials including fake fur, fabric, feathers and fleece, puppet costumes and props, and audio equipment such as speakers, microphones and amps. There will also be a silent auction where you can win a handcrafted puppet built by Sean Johnson.
A fundraising website has been set up for Michael with the goal of raising $100,000. Over $12,000 has been raised to date. Please click here if you’d like to donate now.
